What’s it all about?

Easley, South Carolina, is proud to be the host city for one of the eight Little League Baseball World Series Championships through Easley Little League, the host league. The Big League World Series was a fixture in Easley from 2001 until 2016. Following the dissolution of the Big League by Little League International, Easley began hosting the Senior League Baseball World Series in 2017.


This prestigious event is a highlight for the players, coaches, parents, and South Carolina District 1. Not only are all games streamed live on ESPN+, but the Championship Game also enjoys live coverage on ESPN. This wide exposure has led to several players featuring in Sports Center’s top 10 plays of the day, creating unforgettable memories for everyone involved from the South Carolina District 1 division.


Moreover, the tournament serves as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for young athletes to meet and compete against other top baseball talent from around the world. This interaction not only enhances their playing skills but also broadens their cultural horizons, fostering friendships and exchanges that enrich their personal and athletic development. Many participants who have embraced this opportunity have gone on to further their baseball careers at collegiate and professional levels, demonstrating the profound impact of their experiences in Easley. These events provide a unique platform for showcasing their talents and opening doors to new possibilities in their sports careers.

Q. Who can sign up?

A: Eligibility to participate in the tryout is determined based on age and school zoning. Participants must be between the ages of 13 and 16 according to the 2024 Little League Age Chart. Players must not turn 17 before August 31, 2024. Participants must be zoned to attend one of the following schools: Pickens, Easley, Liberty & Daniel, Pendleton, Seneca, West Oak, Walhalla, Powdersville, or Wren.










Q. When can I sign up & how?

A: Registration for the SCD1 Host Team tryout is open from April 13th to May 20th, 2024.

Q: What documentation is required to sign up?

A: To complete registration for the SCD1 Host Team tryout, the following documents are required:

A copy of the player's birth certificate to verify age eligibility, the completed online registration form provided during the signup process, and the school enrollment form that must be completed and signed by both a parent or guardian and a representative from the player's school, confirming current enrollment.


Q. What are the dates for the 2024 SLBWS?

A: The 2024 Senior League Baseball World Series will take place from July 27th to August 3rd.


Q. Where does the Host Team stay during the week of the event?

A: The Host Team will be staying in Clemson throughout the event


Q. Where are all of the games played?

A: All games will be held at the JB “Red” Owens Sports Complex in Easley, SC.


Q. Can I play travel ball, football or any other sports/activities and play in this event?

A: Yes, players can engage in other sports or activities. The coaching staff will make efforts to accommodate players' schedules for practices and scrimmages before the tournament. However, participants are expected to prioritize team-related activities, especially during the event week.

Q. How do I qualify to make the SLBWS Host Team?

A: Prospective players must attend a tryout on May 28th. After this tryout, the coaching staff will select the top 30 players. A final tryout will occur on May 30th at “The Castle” - St. Joseph’s Catholic School baseball field - where the final roster of 16 players will be determined.


Q: What are the requirements if selected?

A: Selected players are required to attend the Host Team Announcement event in June (exact date to be determined), participate in all planned scrimmages, and provide headshots and action photos. Players must check-in in Clemson on July 25th where they will stay for the duration of the tournament and they must attend the uniform fitting the day of check-in along with the professional photography the following day. All team members and their parents must sign a contract agreeing to uphold exemplary behavior and assume responsibility for any damages to hotel property.
